Lionel Messi’s car jumps red light, narrowly escapes crash at traffic signal in Miami
Earlier this week, photos of Messi visiting a local grocery store with family did rounds on social media. The Argentine skipper was forced to leave the store after being swarmed by locals with selfie requests.
The Lionel Messi fever has taken over Miami, and pretty much the United States as the World Cup winning Argentine skipper prepares to make his debut for the Major League Soccer (MLS) side having completed a move from Paris Saint Germain following the 2022/23 season.
MLS and Inter Miami however, got a major scare as the star forward escaped a car accident in his first week in the US.
According to a report from TyC Sports, Messi – while being escorted by Miami Police – narrowly escaped crashing with a vehicle after his car jumped the red light and went for a left turn. Here’s a video of the same.

Per the comments from Jorge Mas, Messi will earn close to $60 million per year which includes his salary, owning a stake in Inter Miami and his signing bonus. That contract runs from this July 1 2023 until late December 2025.
Inter Miami will be Messi’s third professional club, having featured for Barcelona for over a decade and a half before moving to France on a two-year deal in 2021.
