Man injured during police-involved shooting in Miami

MIAMI – A man was injured during a police-involved shooting on Friday night in Miami, police said.

The man was armed with an assault rifle, according to Officer Michael Vega, a spokesman for the Miami Police Department.

“One of the responding officers discharged his firearm striking the suspect,” Vega wrote in an e-mail.

The shooting was near the City of Miami Fire Station 13, at 990 NE 79 St., east of Miami’s Little River neighborhood, and west of North Bay Village.
