The Real Deal July 2023 Magazine Is Live
The Real Deal’s July 2023 issue is live online for subscribers, and hitting mailboxes across the nation soon.
This month’s cover story digs deeper into the drama surrounding Nate Paul, the Texas real estate wunderkind who’s now accused of bribing state attorney general Ken Paxton. Reporter Joe Lovinger gets into Paul’s splashy arrival on the real estate scene and his dramatic downfall as he teeters on the edge of losing it all. Paul’s take? “Sorry, I’m not going anywhere.”
In South Florida, politics and real estate have long played nice. A little too nice, maybe. Francisco Alvarado reports on developer Rishi Kapoor, who according to court documents was paying Miami Mayor (and potential presidential candidate) Francis Suarez $10,000 as a consultant. Suarez didn’t disclose his side hustle on annual financial statements. But he’s not the only South Florida politician in hot water: the former mayor of Plantation, FL and the current mayor of North Miami Beach both faced charges in unrelated cases last month.
Politics aside, developers keep developing. Or trying to, at least; as the lending environment tightens and construction costs go up, Katherine Kallergis looked into the condo developers holding off on construction. We also ranked the most active developers in New York, and got some candid takes from one of the city’s top development execs.
Elsewhere in the issue, Isabella Farr analyzes Downtown LA’s biggest challenges, Lidia Dinkova looks past the hype in the Miami tech office scene, and Harrison Connery gets to know newfound real estate rock star Stefan Soloviev.
All this and more in the latest issue of The Real Deal. Read online today.
