Who was the worst Miami Dolphins head coach?

The Miami Dolphins began as a franchise under head coach George Wilson. Wilson, despite having won a championship as a head coach in the NFL was not as lucky in Miami. Wilson ended his time with the Phins winning only 15 games to 39 losses. After just four seasons the team moved on and found the definition of stability in head coach Don Shula. Shula not only helmed the ship for 26 straight years but also took the team to all five of their Super Bowls, winning two. Since that time the team has rolled through a long list of head coaches. After 30 years of existence and only two head coaches, the team went through 11 coaches (including interim head coaches) in the following 26 seasons.
Some of the eleven head coaches were more successful than others. Some were just so clearly in over their head and had no business being given the keys to the club. But which was the worst of the group? Below is the list of head coaches between Don Shula and current head coach Mick McDaniel.
- Jimmy Johnson
- Dave Wannstedt
- Jim Bates
- Nick Saban
- Cam Cameron
- Tony Sparano
- Todd Bowles
- Joe Philbin
- Dan Campbell
- Adam Gase
- Brian Flores
