Live updates of Trump’s Miami arraignment in federal indictment

Former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said Tuesday afternoon that Donald Trump and Walter Nauta were “always close,” but added that the aide must be feeling “trapped” as he faces multiple federal charges alongside the former commander-in-chief.

Grisham – who served as Trump’s press secretary from July 2019 through April 2020 – told CNN’s Anderson Cooper that she hopes Nauta is being advised well by his attorneys.

Nauta, a Navy veteran, is facing six federal charges related to allegedly helping Trump store and conceal top secret documents after he left the White House in January 2021.

Habba compared Trump to other politicians like Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden.

Nauta and Trump were both booked in Miami on Tuesday afternoon, and are set to be arraigned around 3 p.m.

“The people in charge of this country do not love America. They hate Donald Trump,” Trump spokesperson and attorney Alina Habba – who is not representing Trump in the documents case – told NBC News outside the courthouse.

Habba compared Trump to Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden, who she alleged are being held to a lesser standard than the real estate mogul.
