Miami developer strikes $10M land deal with Tampa Housing Authority
A Miami developer is moving forward with plans to build a $200 million hotel and apartment project in downtown Tampa. On Thursday, LD&D purchased a 2-acre parcel from the Tampa Housing Authority for $10 million, according to a news release from the company.
The property at 1101 E Harrison St. falls within a 40-acre master planned district called Encore. The district has been in the works for more than a decade and was designed to replace the former Central Park Village public housing complex. It includes a mix of housing, retail and office projects all backed by different builders
“Our project strategically sits at the center of neighborhoods we believe will continue to merge, and we look forward to creating a community-centric concept and providing residents with luxurious amenities, and in turn, the highest quality of life,” Diego Bonet, managing partner of LD&D, said in a statement.
LD&D plans to build a 28-story, 369-unit apartment building and 178-key hotel. Amenities will include 10,000 square feet of coworking space, a pickleball court and a sky lounge on the 26th floor. There will also be 32,500 square feet of retail on the ground floor and a 586-space parking podium.
Construction is expected to start before the end of the year.
