1. Residences at NoMi is expected to break ground in early 2023 after receiving $8 million in funding from the North Miami Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA). The new development will feature 175 market-rate units and 40 affordable housing units, along with office space and retail space. (Miami Today)
2. A local Grinch was captured at the Cortland Hollywood apartment complex on Christmas Eve by Hollywood Police. Police returned most of the stolen packages to residents impacted by the Christmas thief. The suspect faces two counts of burglary, one count of grand theft, and one count of resisting officers without violence. (WSVN)
3. A Miami firefighter was injured Monday during a partial floor collapse after responding to a house fire. The incident happened near Northeast 3rd Avenue and Northeast 55th Street. Nobody else was injured at the scene. (NBC Miami)
4. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has approved a request to install two tower construction cranes at the former Miami Arena site. Three towers are planned for the project, rising up to 57 stories, according to preliminary plans for the development. (The Next Miami)
5. A Doral man was arrested after allegedly firing gunshots from a moving Lamborghini on the Palmetto Expressway this past week. The incident happened at around 1 a.m. Friday, just south of Bird Road in southwest Miami-Dade, according to an arrest report. The suspect facees 14 counts of discharging a firearm from a vehicle, as well as carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, improper exhibition of a firearm, and resisting an officer without violence.
