Here are the top stories in Miami today:

1. Flight cancellations continued on Sunday morning as travelers tried to make it home for Christmas. Over 1,300 flights were canceled nationwide. Dozens of flights were delayed and canceled at both Miami International Airport and Fort Lauderdale Airport. (WPLG Local 10)

2. An investigation is underway after a late night shooting on Christmas Eve in the Coconut Grove neighborhood of Miami. One man was reported dead from the shooting. The incident happened at around 11:30 p.m. in the 3700 block of Percevil Avenue. (NBC Miami)

3. A South Florida homeowner is at a loss after a car came flying through their property in the middle of the night near Northwest 196th Terrace and 48th Court. Miami-Dade Police and Fire Rescue responded to the crash just before 4 a.m. on Saturday. (WSVN)

4. New renderings have been released for the upcoming Upland Park, a $1 billion dollar transit-focused development near the Dolphin Mall in Miami. It will be “the first truly viable alternative to automobile commuting,” according to its official website. (The Next Miami)

5. The Miami Heat have once again fallen below the .500 mark after a loss against the (17-16) Indiana Pacers. The Heat (16-17) will continue their 4 game homestand and face the (16-17) Minnesota Timberwolves next in South Florida on Moday, Dec. 26. (Miami’s Community News)
