Midtown Miami shooting involved two police officers, subject barricaded in building
MIAMI – A shooting involving two Miami police officers happened early Wednesday morning in Midtown Miami.
It happened just before 3 a.m. at the Shops of Midtown Miami in the 3400 block of Northeast 34th Street.
Miami police spokeswoman Kiara Delva said officers were sent to the area after a “suspicious subject” was seen brandishing a firearm in the lobby of a building.
“Once officers arrived on scene, and attempted to make contact with that subject, two officers were forced to discharge their firearms, and ultimately that subject then barricaded himself inside of one of the rooms at the location,” said Delva.
SWAT officers are attempting to get the man to surrender.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will investigate since the shooting is involving police
