Cymbal DLT Breaks Ground on New Housing Project in Miami Gardens

Miami-based construction and design-driven development company Cymbal DLT Companies broke ground today on a multifamily housing project at 20775 NW 17th Avenue in Miami Gardens. The Cymbal DLT team, led by Asi Cymbal and Hector Torres, was accompanied by Broward County Mayor Michael Udine; City of Miami Gardens Mayor Rodney Harris; City Manager, Cameron Benson; Building Official, Osvaldo Diaz; Planning and Zoning Director, Nakeischea Smith; and Jo Palma of Palma + Partners, as they gathered on-site with hard hats and shovels to mark the occasion.

The new project aims to address South Florida’s affordability crisis with a 341-unit Class A apartment complex that will center its 11 buildings around a sculpture-filled lake to maximize views and encourage outdoor activities. The project will feature many of the same amenities of Cymbal DLT’s luxury residential towers, including world-class architecture, art, wellness and sustainability, but rents will be roughly 50% less than comparable newly constructed buildings in Downtown Miami and Fort Lauderdale.

In an effort to drive community engagement, at the groundbreaking ceremony Cymbal DLT launched a public naming contest in partnership with The New Tropic, giving locals the opportunity to submit their suggestions for the name of the new housing project. A committee composed of Cymbal DLT executives and city leaders will deliberate and choose the winner, who will receive the grand prize of two VIP Suite tickets to a Miami Heat home game.
