Here are the top stories today in Miami:

1. Blackstone has invested $5 million into Miami colleges. “What we saw in Miami is a vibrant diverse community with a growing technology and financial services ecosystem,” said Blackstone CFO Michael Chae. Miami-Dade College and FIU are the only two current South Florida locations that have partnered with Blackstone. (WPLG Local 10)

2. A former OnlyFans influencer in Miami, who was accused of killing her boyfriend, will stay behind bars, after a judge denied her release. She potentially faces life in prison. Both families were in court for the hearing but declined to comment. (WSVN)

3. Airbnb has announced a crackdown on unauthorized New Year’s Eve parties in Miami and other U.S. cities. Airbnb said over 1,450 people were deterred in Miami by various anti-party defenses from booking entire home listings last New Year’s Eve. (NBC Miami)

4. Completion of the new Miami-Dade Courthouse is expected to happen by late January 2024. The project is currently on budget and expected to cost $262,767,000. It is expected to feature 46 courtrooms and space for an additional four rooms. (Miami Today)

5. The University of Miami plans to build a $100 million Football Operations Center, according to an application with the city of Coral Gables. Groundbreaking is currently planned to begin in 2023, with completion planned for 2025. (The Next Miami)
