Colonels Look to Rebound at Miami on Friday
OXFORD, Ohio – Eastern Kentucky University women’s basketball looks to bounce back after a tough road loss in the Volunteer State as the team prepares to travel up I-75 on Friday to take on Miami (Ohio) at 6:00 p.m. inside Millett Hall.
Sunday’s game is set to air live on ESPN3 with Steve Baker and Carol Smith on the call, the game can also be heard on Miami Sports Network. Fans looking to make the trip to see the Colonels in the first game of the I-75 Challenge can purchase tickets on the RedHawks’ website.
Antwainette Walker led the Colonels last Sunday against No. 23 Tennessee, the senior tallied a team-leading 18 points for her seventh straight game in double-figure scoring. Through seven games, Walker leads the team with 20.0 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 2.3 steals per game.

– Head coach Greg Todd is 2-4 all-time versus MAC schools, a win Friday would push him over .500 at 20-19 in his career with EKU.
– At 77.3 points per game, EKU sits at 50th in the nation in scoring offense.
– Eastern Kentucky also sits inside the top-75 in the country in made threes and made free throws.
– Three of EKU’s four wins this season have been by over 20 points, including two 30-point wins over App State and Midway.
– With 58 rebounds against Midway the Colonels notched their highest value since 2012.
All-Time vs. Miami (Ohio)
– Friday’s game is the 20th meeting between Miami and EKU, the Colonels lead the all-time series 11-9.
– Miami has claimed the last four meetings in the series, including the last two at home.
– EKU’s last win in Oxford came in 2015 in an overtime thriller by a score of 77-72.
Scouting the RedHawks
– DeUnna Hendrix is in her fourth season at the helm of Miami, in four seasons she’s compiled a record of 25-65 (.278).
– Like EKU, Miami sits among the top-70 teams in the nation in made free throws and free throw attempts per game.
– Sophomore Maddi Cluse leads the RedHawks in scoring (18.5) and rebounding (7.2), she’s totaled 15-or-more points in five games this season.
– Last time out, Ivy Wolf led Miami with 27 points on 10-of-20 (.500) shooting against Loyola Chicago.
