1st Quarter Recap

• A pass interference call on LB Corey Flagg on 3rd-and-11 extended FSU’s opening drive of the game and Jordan Travis took advantage with a 56-yard touchdown strike to Ontaria Wilson for a 7-0 lead. The Hurricanes also scored on their opening possession with a 49-yard field goal by Andres Borregales. Travis also threw a 2-yard touchdown pass to DJ Lundy to give Florida State a 14-3 at the end of the quarter with Florida State outgaining Miami 158-49 in total yards. Tyler Van Dyke (right shoulder) made his return after a one-game absence and completed 4 of 6 passes for 24 yards in the quarter.

2nd Quarter Recap

• DJ Ivey intercepted a deep pass at the 2 on the second play of the quarter to halt Florida State from extending its lead. Van Dyke threw a ball into the ground and immediately favored his shoulder and came out of the game with 14:01 left. After the Hurricanes were unable to gain a first down on the ensuing possession, Florida State responded with a 13-yard touchdown run by Trey Benson for a 21-3 lead. Van Dyke briefly re-entered the game before eventually being pulled. Jake Garcia’s interception led to a 1-yard touchdown run by Benson and a 28-3 deficit.
