NBA’s Kelly Olynyk Is Selling His $3.5M Michigan Estate
Now that power forward Kelly Olynyk has been traded from the Detroit Pistons to the Utah Jazz, he’s aiming for a handoff of his Michigan lakefront estate.
The NBA player recently listed the 1-acre property in Bloomfield Township, MI, for $3.5 million. He had picked it up in September 2021 for $2,995,000, according to Realtor.com® data.
Designed in 1977 by architect Irving Tobocman, the estate was stripped down to the studs in 2020 and completely remodeled. Now a sleek contemporary, the home offers 5,191 square feet of living space, including four bedrooms and 4.5 baths.
The elegance of Tobocman’s original design remains, melding beautifully with the new matte porcelain flooring and custom Italian closets with built-ins.
The floor-to-ceiling walls of glass feature spectacular vistas of the lake, and glass doors open to the large-scale and well-appointed porches and patios.
The 6-foot-11 Olynyk likely delighted in the home’s high ceilings, some of them paneled with gleaming hardwood.
The eat-in kitchen is a work of art with its black-stone island and counters, high-end appliances, and spacious pantry. It also features lake views.
The first-floor primary suite comes with a cozy fireplace, elegant bath, and spacious closet.
There’s a private dock out back, just waiting for a lake-cruising vessel or two.
The Canadian-born Olynyk, 31, who was traded in September, previously played for the Houston Rockets, Miami Heat, and Boston Celtics. He’s been active in the NBA since he was recruited out of Gonzaga in 2013.
Ashley Crain and Jill Laskey of The Agency Hall & Hunter have the listing.
