Crews respond to reported water rescue at Great Miami River near Welcome Stadium – WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio

DAYTON — Several crews responded to reports of a water rescue at the Great Miami River across from Welcome Stadium late Sunday afternoon.

Crews responded to reports of a kayak flipped in the river at around 5:48 p.m.

Witnesses tell our newsroom police and fire crews were blocking a portion of Edwin C. Moses Boulevard.

Video from the scene shows Dayton Police and Fire Departments were on scene as well as a water rescue team and a portion of Patterson Boulevard was also blocked.

One witness tells Dayton Police they saw three people leaving the scene and are safe, Montgomery County Dispatchers tell News Center 7.

No injuries were reported.

The kayak and belongings have been turned over Five Rivers Metropark.
