Atlanta comes in with the best odds to win their way into the playoffs with each club having just one match left after Saturday. ATL is currently five points back of Inter Miami who holds 45 points, good for the seventh and last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. However, the Crew a match in hand on both clubs. After losing consecutive matches a few weeks ago, Atlanta has tried to put themselves to get into the playoffs for the second season in-a-row. They have gone unbeaten in their last three matches, with wins over Toronto FC and Orlando City, before going to a scoreless draw with the conference-leading Philadelphia Union in their last match on Sept. 17.
With Inter Miami beating Toronto FC on Friday night, the Revolution were effectively eliminated from playoff contention. Certainly a far cry after New England were a record-setting squad last season. This marks the first time the Revs have missed out on the postseason in four years.
In their first meeting down in Atlanta back in May, the two clubs ended up in a 2-2 draw.
