College football world as Miami fans tailgate through tropical storm
There might not be a better tailgate destination in the world than a parking lot before a college football game. That’s true unless you’re in Miami in the middle of hurricane season as a tropical storm is making landfall, and potentially turning into a full-blown Hurricane.
On Saturday, the Miami Hurricanes are hosting Middle Tennessee State on Saturday afternoon as Tropical Storm Ian is building strength in the Caribbean. And while the storm isn’t supposed to hit the Florida coast until later this week, fans in the Miami area already feeling the effects as they try to tailgate for the game.
A video circulating on Twitter shows a group of Miami fans struggling to hold their tent up as rain and heavy wind plague the area.

With the wind and the rain, it looks like miserable tailgating conditions all around. And the college football world had plenty to say about it on Saturday afternoon.

If the wind and rain are affecting the tailgates so much, it will undoubtedly impact the game when the two teams kick off at 3:30 on Saturday afternoon.
The team is called the “Hurricanes,” but that doesn’t necessarily mean the fans are prepared to tailgate through one.
