Cincinnati Dominates Miami (OH) in Home Sweep
CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati volleyball team dominated rival Miami (OH), defeating the RedHawks in straight sets on Friday night inside Fifth Third Arena.
Strong serving and relentless defense powered the Bearcats to victory. Cincinnati registered nine blocks, eight service aces and 44 digs on the night. Senior Payton Frederick led all players with a match-high 13 digs.
Offensively, the Bearcats hit a season-best .284 behind 33 assists from freshman setter Caroline Endres. Freshman Avry Tatum finished with a team-high 10 kills with only one attacking error on 16 attempts (.562) while sophomore Abby Walker put down nine kills to go along with three blocks.

SET 1 | The Bearcats fell behind early (12-6) before redshirt senior Kailea Carrier rattled off three straight blocks. UC would later use a 5-0 run to take the lead for good, and win the opening set, 25-19. Cincinnati registered a .385 clip with 12 kills and only two attacking errors in the frame.
SET 2 | Cincinnati scored first and never trailed to win the second set, 25-14. The Bearcats went on a 9-0 scoring run with senior Kerstin Ficker behind the service line. UC hit .316 in the stanza to cruise to the set-victory.
SET 3 | Cincinnati opened up a 12-point advantage in the third set (18-6) before the RedHawks threatened with a run of their own. The Bearcats maintained their composure to finish off the match in straight sets, winning the final frame 25-17. Walker registered five of her nine kills in the stanza.
