Miami offensive line commit Connor Lew honored as part of the All-American Bowl
Acworth (Ga.) Kennesaw Mountain four-star offensive lineman and Miami commit Connor Lew was honored as an All-American this week as part of the Road to the Dome Series.
Lew shared the moment with his family, coaches and teammates during a ceremony inside his school’s fieldhouse.
“Being an All American has been a goal watching the game with my friends on TV every January on NBC,” Lew said. “Now to say I’m going to be that kid playing in the game and having other people watching me, it’s special to see it come full circle.”
The All-American Bowl has been the nation’s premier high school sporting event for 20 years and will return to San Antonio, Texas on Jan. 7, 2023, where it will be broadcasted live nationally on NBC. Over 20,000 fans flock to the Alamo Dome with the game’s alumni including Bryce Young, CJ Stroud, Trevor Lawrence, Keenan Allen, Odell Beckham Jr., Stefan Diggs, Marshon Lattimore, Chase Young, Najee Harris, Micah Parson, Patrick Peterson, Derrick Henry, Christian McCaffrey, Ezekiel Elliott and Quenton Nelson. Legends of the game include Adrian Peterson and Joe Thomas.
“Just playing with a bunch of guys good at football and competing,” Lew said of he’s looking forward to regarding his own experience.
Lew committed to Miami in August over the likes of Clemson, Auburn and Georgia.
“We’re building great things,” Lew said. “We still have a lot of work to do.
“I was at the Southern Miss game lat weekend. Me and Frankie (Tinilau) were sitting next to each other and we’re excited to get to work there.”
Lew said the relationship were what separated Miami from his other top schools.
“The coaches in general, the people is what I always say brought me back to Miami every time.”
