STOLEN CAR CHASE THAT STARTED IN MIAMI-DADE ENDS IN KEY LARGO

A 32-year-old man was arrested after a stolen car pursuit that started in Miami-Dade County on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Florida Highway Patrol and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, a stolen white pickup truck was spotted traveling southbound on the 18-Mile Stretch. The Miami-Dade Police Department initiated the pursuit. Florida Highway Patrol and Monroe County sheriff’s deputies were alerted at 3:30 p.m. and eventually took over the pursuit as the truck entered the county. 

The vehicle driven by the suspect, later identified as Kyle Harvey Carter, was spiked by deputies. The pickup truck eventually stopped at the Tom Thumb gas station at MM 102, bayside. 

Carter was taken into custody.

As writers, we are the ones who paint the pictures in the readers minds of the emotions, the struggles and the triumphs.” Jim serves as President of the Key Largo Sunset Rotary Club, which is composed of energetic members who serve the community’s youth and older populations. “It’s a group that lives by the motto ‘Service Above Self,’” he says. “We’ve done service projects at the Tavernier nursing home, sitting down and socializing with residents. “We’ve also supplied cameras to young students exploring the Keys ecosystem.” Jim loves sports, family and time exploring underneath the water depths.
