‘GREAT Float’ taking place at Great Miami River today; Over 100 participants expected – WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio
MIAMISBURG — The 2022 GREAT Float, a celebration of the Great Miami River, is taking place today along the Great Miami River, according to a news release.
It is a five-mile paddle from West Carrollton to Miamisburg with over 100 participants in canoes, kayaks and other human-powered craft.

It goes from 2-5 pm and is hosted by the Great Miami Riverway, along with the cities of West Carrollton and Miamisburg.
“The 2022 GREAT Float will showcase the natural beauty of the Great Miami River,” Dan Foley, director of the Great Miami Riverway said in a release.
More than 100 paddling enthusiasts will experience firsthand Ohio’s first National Water Trail connecting the Riverway communities of Miamisburg and West Carrolton, Foley said.

Paddlers can park in downtown Miamisburg, ride a shuttle bus to Miami Bend Park in West Carrollton and float down the Great Miami River to Miamisburg, according to the release.
The July 8 deadline to register for the event has already past.
There will be an after-party that features a Taste of Miamisburg with local restaurants and paddlers are invited to enjoy the Miamisburg DORA, the release said.
