Here are the top three stories in Franklin today:
- The Franklin Police Department is searching for part-time school crossing guards. The position begins at $20.29 an hour. A school crossing guard is responsible for the pedestrian safety and efficiency of traffic through a school zone. Qualified applicants will be kind but assertive. (Williamson Source)
- The Williamson County Board of Commissioners has approved a $12.5 million capital needs request by Williamson County Schools. The final vote was 20-2. The two hold-outs were District 2 Commissioner Judy Herbert and District 1 Commissioner Dwight Jones. They argued that the district had enough funds in its general-purpose budget to cover its capital needs. (williamsonherald.com)
- An individual wanted by the Franklin Police Department has been apprehended in Miami, Florida. Joshua Jaco was wanted on two counts of sexual battery by an authority figure. He had been on the department’s most-wanted list since late May. He will now be extradited back to Franklin. (williamsonherald.com)
