Hello, everybody! I’m here with your Monday edition of the Miami Daily, filled with all the things you need to know about what’s happening in town.
First, today’s weather:
A stray afternoon t-storm. High: 91 Low: 81.
📢 I’m looking for business owners and marketers in Miami who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.
I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Miami Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that’s you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.
Here are the top five stories today in Miami:
1. Miami-Dade County commissioners met last week about a proposal to split up part of unincorporated Miami-Dade County that’s mainly industrial and commercial land. Some business owners are saying the change will be a tax burden and that it’s unfair and un-American. (CBS Miami)
2. Car burglars broke into multiple vehicles parked outside at least 20 homes in a gated community in Miami Lakes. (WSVN)
3. Police are investigating a deadly shooting that took place outside of a Foodland Market in Northwest Miami-Dade Sunday morning. The incident occurred in Brownsville neighborhood at 4719 NW 32nd Avenue. One man was dead at the scene, while another was rushed to a hospital and is in stable condition. (NBC Miami)
4. The U.S. Coast Guard brought 64 Cuban migrants on Sunday back to Cuba after finding them at sea on Thursday and Friday last week off the Florida Keys. In about nine months, crews have intercepted 3,067 Cubans, according to the U.S. Coast Guard’s report on Sunday. (WPLG Local 10)
5. A man has been arrested following a shooting in West Park that sent a woman to the hospital and led to police pursuit that ended in Palm Beach County. Shawn Michael Williams, 41, was arrested Saturday night and faces one count of first-degree attempted murder. (WSVN)
