Here are the top stories today in Miami:

1. A mother was horrified to find that her 12-year-old daughter was left wandering Miami International Airport alone by American Airlines staff. The mother said the airline didn’t realize the girl was missing until about an hour after she landed and had already found her father on her own. The video the mother posted about the incident went viral on TikTok with more than one million views. (NBC Miami)

2. Abortion rights organizers in South Florida with the group “Bans Off Miami” called their protest RAGE MIAMI” and marched on Saturday from Miami-Dade County Courthouse to Northwest Third Street and Third Court. A man climbed a steel structure there to hang a banner, which read “S.O.S. BIDEN – THEY WON’T STOP AT ROE.” (WPLG Local 10)

3. The Miami-Dade Expressway Authority won a dispute last week as the 11th Judicial Circuit granted its motion for summary judgment in a dispute over control of the five expressways it operates in Miami-Dade County. The state-created Greater Miami Expressway Agency has until July 29 to respond. (Miami Today)

4. Plans for a 49-story building in downtown Miami called The Elser Hotel & Residences have been announced. There will be 646 units sold as fully-furnished condos. Owners will reportedly be permitted to rent their units on a daily basis. The property will include a lobby cocktail bar and restaurant by the creators of Jaguar Sun as well as a coffee lounge by Cafe Domino. (The Next Miami)

5. Concordia, a non-profit and non-partisan organization, will be hosting their 6th annual Americas Summit at the University of Miami from July 13-14. The goal of the summit is to address the “future of the Western Hemisphere by encouraging conversation and action between global leaders.” (NBC Miami)

  • A Northeast Miami-Dade woman is upset after her condo’s homeowner’s association ordered a doorbell camera removed after another resident’s camera recorded a theft involving the building’s own security guard. The incident occurred at the Towers of Quayside condominiums. (WSVN)
  • A fire at Tropicana Flea Market in Miami destroyed at least 40% of the space. One vendor lost nearly $40,000 worth of clothes and other merchandise. (WSVN)
