There are many good role players available on the market this year and with the Miami Heat looking to make a big playoff push next year, they might have to turn to a player who formerly played for one of their rivals. Here are three past “enemy” players that the Miami Heat could sign this offseason.

Patty Mills

Best known for being a member of the San Antonio Spurs teams that faced the Miami Heat in the Finals, Patty Mills is entering free agency this summer. Mills opted out of his contract with the Brooklyn Nets.

Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Mills “will attract significant interest around the league.” The Heat could look to get involved in the Patty Mills offers, as they are a championship-level team who could use his veteran experience.

Last season, Patty Mills had one of the best seasons of his career. Even playing alongside the likes of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, he was a trusted option on offense.

Most importantly, Mills was lethal from three-point range. Miami could always use more shooters, considering how the modern game of basketball is played.

Patty Mills could be a solid backup or third-string point guard for the Heat.
