Four-star SG Solomon Ball lists Miami in top 5

Wolfeboro (N.H.) Brewster Academy four-star shooting guard Solomon Ball named Miami in his top five on Tuesday.

The Miami coaches have kept a close watch on Ball after offering him in May. Head coach Jim Larranaga was in Connecticut earlier this month to watch Ball play in a showcase event.

“I’m definitely considering them because of the interest I feel they have in me,” Ball said in an interview with InsideTheU last month. “They’ve been reaching out consistently every day. Coach L texts me every day and we just go back and forth talking about different stuff. I feel like building conversations is a big part of this process and for me to be able to be transparent with the coaches when they ask me questions and when I ask questions too.”

Ball, the 11th-best shooting guard and 69th-best overall player in the 2023 class according to the 247Sports composite rankings, also included USC, Connecticut, DePaul and Providence in his top five.

Ball has taken official visits to DePaul, USC and Connecticut. He has not announced plans for his final two possible visits.

Miami offered Ball in May after watching him have a strong showing at the Nike EYBL Indianapolis session with Team Melo. The 6-foot-3 athletic lefty averaged 17.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.0 steals while shooting 57 percent from the field.

Ball also turned in a solid showing at Nike EYBL Louisville, averaging 14.8 points on 46-percent shooting, 4.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.6 steals in five games.

The next EYBL session is in Kansas City on July 7-10.
