Miami Heat Draft Pick, Nikola Jovic, Shows Off His Confidence
The Miami Heat don’t make many mistakes. Well, everyone is liable for one or two, but when it comes to doing things a certain way, the Miami Heat are the standard.
Whether it be in the middle of the season, the offseason, or in any other facet of the game or team building, they are a team that makes fewer bad calls than most teams. That goes in the NBA Draft as well.
Many thought that Bam Adebayo was a long term project, only for him to become one of the best defenders in the league in short order. A lot of people wondered whether Tyler Herro was the right pick where they took him at 13 in 2019, but he has proceeded to become one of the best scorers in the league, a top 25 scorer this past season, and the NBA Sixth Man Of The Year.
So, how can we doubt the decisions they make—even down at the 27th pick? Though, somewhat, of an unknown coming into the process, many people had Nikola Jovic the guy that they took there, as a lottery-type talent.
Heck, he was invited to the NBA Draft Green Room, which means that the draft brain trust thought he’d be taken higher too. He wasn’t, he fell, and the Miami Heat may have made the steal of the entire draft.
The Miami Heat may have the steal of the NBA Draft in Nikola Jovic at 27. With his seemingly high level of confidence, you absolutely love the potential.
While all of that is yet to be determined, what you can take from the selection immediately is a few things. The Miami Heat got bigger.
They got bigger, while at the same time not sacrificing skill set or potential. And lastly, they got a guy that already has the type of confidence that you would seek from a guy that has the tools and potential that Jovic has.
Check this out.
He said that he played against grown men! You all heard it.
While it’s just something cute and shareable amongst fans of the guy, the Miami Heta team, and the league at this point, it does point to something tangible and real. The guy has confidence.
A well-known fact among Miami Heat supporters is this one. You can’t teach that thing right there.
A guy can have all the ability in the world, but if it’s just not his mental makeup or approach, then you’ll never see the most that the talent has to offer. This guy doesn’t seem like he’ll have that problem.
NBA Summer League can’t get here fast enough because you have to be eager to see a guy like this in action.
