Victor Oladipo And Jimmy Butler Laugh At Bayless ‘Report’

The Miami Heat are currently in the midst of a White Hot playoff run and while they should be locked in as a complete unit, there are always, of course, distractions to deal with. Recently, one of those distractions came in the form of a “report” from Fox Sports’ Skip Bayless after Game 2 against the Atlanta Hawks.

Many Heat fans shrugged it off, simply as Bayless trying to get attention.

According to the former First Take co-host, he says that “Jimmy Butler flat out told head coach, Erik Spoelstra, that he didn’t “want to share the floor with Victor Oladipo.”  Most ignored the words just because of the source and rightfully so.

If there’s one thing that is true about that Miami Heat locker room, it’s that everyone is willing to say what’s on their minds and get past it. So to hear something like this come out, everyone knew someone wasn’t telling the truth.

After Sunday night’s Game 4 however, it definitely seems like Skip was on the wrong side of things. Not only did we see Victor Oladipo touch the floor, but we saw him connect with Jimmy Butler on the defensive end, sparking a second-quarter run that the Hawks just couldn’t answer.

The Miami Heat are thriving after another blowout in Game 4 of their series against Atlanta to go up 3-1. They are beating the Hawks and the rumor mill too.

The on-court chemistry seemed great and it was the post-game interviews that put Skip’s “report” away for good. When questioned about his thoughts about the controversy, Jimmy responded in the most Jimmy way possible.

“I’m always the bad guy, but that’s ok because bad guys are welcomed here in the Miami Heat organization.”

He then follows up with some words of confidence for Oladipo.

“I love my guys. As you can see, Vic was a huge part of us winning tonight and it’s tough because he deserves to play.

But that’s not my call, I don’t talk to anybody about it, and I always tell him, you be who you are. Stay aggressive because when your number is called and which it was, you see what happens.”

If these quotes still have you a little worried about this, after Oladipo’s postgame presser, Anthony Chiang reports that Jimmy Butler told Oladipo to “tell them how much I hate you.”

A lot of folks out there turned out to be right after all, except Bayless. It was a big much ado about nothing at the end of the day, as many of these reports are.

The Miami Heat head into Tuesday’s Game 5 up 3-1, with a chance to close it out on their home floor. That’s a report you can count on.
