ROME, Ga. (theACC.com) – The top four seeds advanced Friday, as Duke, Miami, North Carolina and Virginia earned hard-fought wins in the quarterfinals of the 2022 Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Championship at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College in Rome, Georgia.
All four teams rallied after dropping the doubles point. In the afternoon matches, the No. 1-seed Tar Heels downed No. 8 Florida State, 4-1, and No. 4 UVa knocked out No. 5 NC State, 4-2. In the evening session, No. 2 Duke topped No. 7 Wake Forest, 4-2, and No. 3 Miami outlasted No. 6 Georgia Tech in a back-and-forth, marathon match, 4-3.
The semifinals will be played at 2 p.m. Saturday, featuring North Carolina against Virginia and Duke taking on Miami. The North Carolina-Virginia matchup will air on ACC Network Extra.
The championship match is slated for 2 p.m. Sunday and also will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra.
Championship ticket passes are $25. One-day entry passes are $10 for adults and $7 for children (age 9-17) and non-ACC college students. Children (8 and under) and ACC college students (with valid ID) are admitted free of charge.
