The Miami Heat’s Game 1 of the opening round of the NBA Playoffs was a resounding win for them. The Atlanta offense was held to only 91 points, while Trae Young was held to only eight points and four assists.
Atlanta had a bad start to their season but from the top of January until the end of the regular season, they were second in the league in offensive rating at 117.4 points per 100 possessions.
Basically, keeping them under 100 isn’t easy.
This was a great defensive effort by Miami but Trae Young is the kind of player who will find ways to get going and the Heat need to be prepared for it. This game featured a lot of Trae forcing up tough shots, instead of getting others involved.
That will be his biggest threat for the rest of the series if he realizes that he can take advantage of it. Well, if the Miami Heat see fit to allow that as well.
