The Miami Heat are obsessed with winning now and ‘chasing that high’ to the NBA Finals – The Athletic
MIAMI — The walk from the double doors of the Miami Heat’s locker room, through a narrow hallway with burnt orange carpet, to the court is called “Championship Alley.” Plastered all over the walls are iconic plays and moments from the franchise’s three titles.
In one image, on the right side of the hallway if you’re headed toward the court, Heat legend Dwyane Wade is gliding for a layup past Russell Westbrook during the 2012 NBA Finals. Chris Bosh and James Harden are near the basket, looking up, while Kevin Durant is on the other side of the rim, and LeBron James is watching from near the 3-point line.
That’s six players from the NBA’s Top-75 list in one photo.
On the wall to the left of the locker-room doors is an image of Bosh’s offensive rebound following a LeBron missed 3 in Game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs. To the right of those doors is Ray Allen, having caught the outlet pass from Bosh, burying a game-tying 3 to send that game into overtime. The Heat won the NBA Finals in seven games for their second straight title.
At the end of the hallway, just before the Heat’s modern-day warriors take the court, is an image of Shaquille O’Neal blocking Erick Dampier’s shot at the rim during the 2006 finals against the Dallas Mavericks.
