LSU lands 4-star safety Michael Daugherty over Georgia, Texas, Miami

Michael Daugherty, a four-star safety from Georgia, committed to LSU on Wednesday night, picking the Tigers over a list of finalists that included North Carolina, Georgia, Texas, Miami and Louisville.

Daugherty, who plays at Grayson High School in Loganville, Ga., is ranked No. 124 overall and No. 9 at safety by 247Sports. He is the third commitment in the 2023 class for new coach Brian Kelly, joining four-star tight end Mac Markway from St. Louis and four-star wide receiver Omarion Miller from Vivian, La.

LSU’s 2022 class ranked No. 12 nationally, only the second time since 2012 that the Tigers finished outside of the top 10.
