Miami fire rescue saves drowning dog from canal
BELLE MEADE, Fla. – The City of Miami Department of Fire-Rescue responded to a call for a dog in distress in a canal behind Belle Meade on Monday around 8:45 a.m.
The Miami Fire Boat 25 responded and arrived to find what is believed to be a boxer mix female dog in the water.
Neighbors say she had been barking since 6 a.m. and firefighter, Rudy Gil, jumped into the canal and saved the dog from potentially almost drowning.
According to fire rescue, the dog is in good health and doesn’t seem to have any life-threatening injuries
The crew is going to see if the pup has a chip to try and locate her owner, even though she has no collar.
