Miami’s Richardson, North Carolina’s Tanguilig Earn ACC Women’s Tennis Weekly Awards
GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Miami senior Eden Richardson has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week, and North Carolina’s Carson Tanguilig has been selected the league’s Freshman of the Week.
Richardson led the 10th-ranked Hurricanes to a pair of 6-1 road wins over Virginia Tech and No. 11 Virginia as Miami improved to 9-2 on the season. A native of Bath, England, Richardson defeated reigning NCAA champion Emma Navarro of Virginia, 6-3, 6-3 at the top singles position. It was just the second loss of Navarro’s college career and first at home. Richardson also won her singles and doubles matches against the Hokies.
