Game time set for Auburn’s Round of 32 tilt against 10-Seed Miami
Auburn booked a trip to the round of 32 after defeating Jacksonville State 80-61 on Friday at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Bruce Pearl’s squad will play 10-seed Miami on Sunday at 6:45 pm CT for a trip to the Sweet 16 in Chicago.
Auburn’s game will air on TruTV on Sunday.
Miami advanced after beating No.7 seed Southern California after the Tigers downed the Gamecocks in the opening round of the Midwest Regional. Auburn and Miami have played twice. The Hurricanes won in 1966, and Auburn won a 2001 NIT game against Miami.
Jaylin Williams scored eight points off the bench in the first half versus Jacksonville State. He went 2-for-2 from three, however, he took an accidental elbow by Walker Kessler with less than 15 minutes in the game with Auburn up by 22 points. Williams bled on the court and both players went in the locker room. Kessler returned to the contest. Williams didn’t and is questionable for the Tigers game against Miami.
Other than Williams all of the other Auburn players expect to compete on Sunday with a trip to Chicago in the balance.
