Renters Are Looking to Return to Australia’s Cities
Demand for new digs in the central business districts of major Australian cities has blossomed since the nation reopened its international borders, which had previously been operating with stringent Covid-19-related restrictions. Since the announcement, which welcomes back overseas migrants and students, rental searches have skyrocketed in Australian metropolises, with the nation as a whole seeing a 27% higher search volume through the first 10 weeks of 2022, compared to last year. Melbourne’s city center leads the way, posting a 46% year-over-year increase in rental search volume in the time period. realestate.com.au
A Solid Start to the Year for Dubai Real Estate
A report from CBRE finds that Dubai had 11,071 property transactions in January and February, the most the emirate ever recorded through the first two months of the year. In addition to an impressive transaction volume, average prices for properties in Dubai through February were up 10.7% with apartments logging a 9.1% increase and villas racking a 21% increase. Broward County, Florida, Sees Surging Luxury Sales
Broward County, Florida, home to greater Fort Lauderdale, has seen a robust number of luxury transactions to start 2022. Luxury condo sales for the county—identified as properties worth $1 million and up—rose 53.3% year over year in January, according to the Miami Association of Realtors. Bizarrely, luxury single-family homes were also up exactly 53.3% in the same time period. Broward County real estate, like South Florida property as a whole, has benefited from low interest rates, increased work-from-home policies and the migration of residents from tax-heavy Northeastern states. Furthermore, global vaccination rates (and political instability elsewhere) have made the Sunshine State an attractive option for international home buyers. World Property Journal
