Miami football second best ACC net transfer rating
The Miami football program has added depth to its roster through the 2022 transfer portal. Three of the Hurricanes’ five additions are on the line of scrimmage. Miami minimized significant losses through the transfer portal and added five players who could all have an impact with the the Miami football program in 2022.
Despite losing nine players and signing only five, Miami had the second-highest net rating of among transfers in the ACC according to 247 Sports. Miami had a net rating of 2.82 which was second to Louisville who scored 3.34. One of the players Louisville added is former Miami wide receiver Dee Wiggins.
Miami has excelled with transfers. Quarterback D’Eriq King led Miami to an 8-3 season in 2020. Charleston Rambo set the Miami receptions and receiving yardage record in 2021. Miami might add more transfers during the 2022 offseason. Transfers frequently occur after programs complete spring practice.
The prescence of Mario Cristobal as head coach should increase the ability for Miami to attract talent through high school prospects and transfers. Cristobal helped Miami improve nearly 60 places in the Class of 2022 with the Hurricanes currently 15th. Brandon Marcello of 247 Sports summarized the Miami transfers.

Net gain: +2.82Miami might prove to be the biggest winner in the transfer portal. The Hurricanes have not only survived a coaching change by upgrading with Mario Cristobal, attrition has mostly been limited to the coaching carousel.
Four of the five highest-rated players coming and going from the portal are arrivals, with outgoing defensive tackle Nesta Jade Silvera (5.5 tackles for loss in 2021) leading the pack atop the rankings as a 4-star prospect. He landed at Arizona State.
Meanwhile, Ole Miss running back Henry Parrish, Clemson receiver Frank Ladson and USC defensive lineman Jake Lichtenstein have picked the Hurricanes. The Hurricanes are cleaning up in the portal and is upgrading an already-strong roster.
In addition to Ladson, Lichtenstein and Parrish, the Miami football program also added transfer defensive lineman Antonio Moultrie from UAB and offensive lineman Logan Sagapolu from Oregon. Ladson will challenge to become a starting WR, Parrish will be impactful at RB and the three linemen add depth.
Parrish and Sagapolu transfered to Miami with their position coaches also joining the Hurricanes staff. Miami hired RBs coach Kevin Smith from Mississippi and Cristobal brought OL coach Alex Mirabal from Mississippi. Sagapolu has struggled with injuries in college. Parrish was a significant contributor to Mississippi in 2021.
Ladson is the more talented WR on the Miami roster according to the 247 composite ratings. Parrish adds depth with recently signed 2022 RB Trevonte’ Citizen to a deep corps for Miami. Sagapolu could be a future starter for Miami. Lictenstein and Moultrie will be a part of the Miami rotation on the defensive line.
