Inter Miami CF Announces Open Training Session at DRV PNK Stadium; 2022 Preseason Schedule
Inter Miami CF announced today that fans will be part of the club’s preseason preparations, as the First Team will be hosting an open training session on Saturday, Feb. 5 at DRV PNK Stadium. Head coach Phil Neville and Inter Miami players will welcome the fans, the Heartbeat of the club, in a special afternoon of fútbol and fun. The outing will give fans a first look at the NEW 2022 squad.
“We are excited to be back on the pitch together continuing our preparation for the 2022 season,” said Inter Miami CF Head Coach Phil Neville. “Our fans are an integral component of this club and we didn’t want to wait until our first match of the regular season to show you what we have been working on.”
The event will begin at 3:45 p.m. ET with player walk outs and remarks. Open training will kick off promptly at 4 p.m. ET. Gates open at 3 p.m. ET. Additional details on the first-of-its kind season kickoff event will be available in the coming weeks.
The club also announced its preseason schedule today ahead of its exciting 2022 Major League Soccer (MLS) campaign set to begin at DRV PNK Stadium on Feb. 26 against the Chicago Fire. Kickoff for the highly anticipated home opener is set for 6 p.m. ET.
Preseason begins with performance and medical examinations which will be available from Jan. 14 until Jan. 16 with the support of Baptist Health at the Inter Miami CF Training Center. The first on field training session of the year will be on Monday, Jan. 17 at the Inter Miami CF Training Center. Both outings will be closed to the public.
Inter Miami will continue training in its state-of-the-art facilities until Feb. 11, when the team will head to Charleston, South Carolina for an eight-day preseason camp. The club will return to South Florida on Feb. 19 to conclude preparations for its Feb. 26 home opener.
The 2022 Inter Miami preseason will feature six scrimmages within six weeks of training. On the road, fans can follow the team’s participation in the 2022 Carolina Challenge Cup – where Inter Miami will face Columbus Crew on Feb. 12, the Charleston Battery on Feb. 15 and Charlotte FC on Feb. 19. The team will also play behind closed doors against Eastern Conference opponents Columbus Crew on Jan. 22, D.C. United on Jan. 29 and an additional MLS opponent (to be announced) on Feb. 4.
