Miami football late push becoming finalist for 4-star DT Christen Miller
A late push by new head coach Mario Cristobal has the Miami football program as a finalist for four-star defensive tackle Christen Miller. Miami is completing with Florida A&M, Georgia, Ohio State and Oregon for Miller. The Hurricanes and Rattlers were late surprises as finalists for Miller.
All six crystal balls from 247 Sports project Miller to sign with Georgia. The Rivals.Com future cast lists Miller as 60 percent to Georgia. Miller is listed as warmer to Georgia and Ohio by 247 Sports. Alabama was listed as warm by 247 sports, but surprisingly were not named as a finalist by Miller.
Miller is the 107th ranked player, 19th defensive lineman and 11th best player in Georgia by the 247 Sports composite. Rivals ranks Miller as the fifth-best defensive tackle. Miller will announce his college choice on National Signing Day, February 2. Miller plans to visit Miami for an unofficial visit this month.
Miller has taken all five of his official visits. One of the official visits was to Oregon in November. Cristobal has an established relationship with Miller and is now trying to convince him to come to Coral Gables. The other four official visits for Miller were to Georgia, Louisville, Ohio State and USC.
Miller had 60 tackles, 25 tackles for loss, eight sacks, five forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries for Cedar Grove High School in Ellenwood, Georgia. Four-star defensive end Nyjalik Kelly is the only defensive lineman the Miami football program has signed in the Class of 2022.
Miami has added former USC DL Jacob Lichtenstein who can play inside or outside. Signing Miller would be a huge addition for Cristobal and Miami in the Class of 2022. The 2022 Miami signing class currently ranks 48th nationally. Miami will find out on Saturday if they will have two new additions.
Four-stars, DE Cyrus Moss from Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas and wide receiver Kevin Coleman will announce their college destinations at the Army All-American Game. Coleman is projected to announce he will play for Miami. Moss is favored to play for USC. Miami would move up to 36th ranked with Coleman.
