Alex Mirabal announces he is Miami Hurricanes’ next offensive line coach
Alex Mirabal has been hired at Miami to remain on Mario Cristobal’s staff and will serve as the Hurricanes’ offensive line coach, he announced on social media Sunday.
Mirabal, a former high school teammate of Cristobal’s at Columbus, is the first assistant coach officially named to Cristobal’s staff at Miami since Cristobal was hired last week.
Mirabal has been serving as Oregon’s offensive line coach the past four seasons after Cristobal was named the head coach of the Ducks.
He was also on Cristobal’s staff at FIU for six seasons (2007-12), three years as a tight ends coach and three years as the offensive line coach.
Mirabal was also an offensive line coach at Marshall for five years (2013-17) before re-connecting with Cristobal and was a long-time assistant coach in South Florida 1993-2006.
Mirabal and Cristobal graduated from Columbus in 1988.
